On 9 August 2025, South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) closes the consultation on the regulation of uniform internet network blocking measures applying to personal information processors. The measures introduce flexible internet network blocking measures for personal information processors. The measures apply to large-scale processors managing personal data of over one million daily users allowing selective internet access on handler devices following risk analysis and protective measures. The measures also expand the scope of authorised access to processing systems, strengthen authentication and access record obligations, and permit processors to set log inspection frequencies based on their data environment.
