China: Announcement including import licensing requirement for commercial encryption products

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce, State Cryptography Administration, and General Administration of Customs jointly release Announcement 2020/63, which introduces new controls on the import of commercial encryption products. In particular, to import the items and technologies listed in the "Commercial Encryption Import License List", the companies shall obtain a licence from the Ministry of Commerce. The list includes encrypted phones, VPN devices and other encrypted machines.
