Indonesia: Ministry of Communication and Digital announced Presidential Regulation to govern Artificial Intelligence utilisation

On 16 July 2025, the Ministry of Communication and Digital announced plans to draft a Presidential Regulation to govern Artificial Intelligence (AI) utilisation and a national AI roadmap. The regulation will apply to all public institutions and guide stakeholders deploying AI across sectors, including transport, education, health, and finance. It aims to strengthen cross-sectoral governance, mitigate risks, and ensure ethical AI development, complementing existing laws.
