China: Cyberspace Administration announced inquiry into personal information protection practices

On 16 July 2025, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) announced the launch of a nationwide inquiry into personal information protection practices. The initiative aims to gather information concerning the current state of personal information protection, standardise processing activities, and safeguard individual rights related to personal data.
