Description

Attorney General announced settlement with TicketNetwork over violations of Connecticut Data Privacy Act pertaining to data transparency

On 8 July 2025, the Attorney General of Connecticut announced a settlement with TicketNetwork for violations of the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA). The CTDPA applies to businesses that control or process personal data of Connecticut residents, particularly those exceeding USD 25 million in annual revenue or handling data of over 100,000 consumers. Under the settlement, TicketNetwork must comply with the CTDPA’s transparency and consumer rights obligations. The obligations include maintaining clear privacy notices, enabling rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of data processing and targeted advertising, and submitting regular reports on consumer rights requests to the Attorney General. The company also agreed to pay USD 85,000 for its failure to address compliance deficiencies within the required timeframe. With the CTDPA’s cure period having expired on 1 January 2025, the Attorney General confirmed that enforcement actions will continue to ensure adherence to the law.
