European Union: Council of Europe launched HUDERIA Methodology for risk and impact assessment of AI systems under Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence, Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law

On 16 June 2025, the Council of Europe launched the HUDERIA Process, introducing the HUDERIA Academy and Platform to implement its methodology for Artificial Intelligence (AI) risk and impact assessment focused on human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. The methodology applies to developers and deployers of AI systems worldwide, requiring comprehensive risk assessments, mitigation plans, and ongoing reviews throughout the AI lifecycle to ensure public protection.
