Advanced Artificial Intelligence Security Readiness Act was introduced to House of Representatives (Bill No. HR 3919)

On 11 June 2025, the Advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) Security Readiness Act, was introduced to the United States House of Representatives. The Act applies to developers and operators of highly capable AI systems that, if compromised, could pose national security risks. The Act directs the National Security Agency (NSA) to develop an AI Security Playbook to protect advanced AI technologies from theft by nation-state and other resourced threat actors. The Playbook must assess vulnerabilities in AI models and data centres, identify sensitive components, and propose defence strategies, including government-led secure development environments. It also mandates stakeholder engagement and collaboration with federally funded research institutions. The NSA must submit a preliminary report within 90 days and a final version within 270 days of enactment.
