China: National Cybersecurity Standardization Committee opened consultation on national standard on specifications for entity authentication and access architecture for introducing trusted third parties into network security technology

On 18 June 2025, the National Cybersecurity Standardization Committee opened a consultation on the national standard on specifications for entity authentication and access architecture for introducing trusted third parties into network security technology, until 17 August 2025. The standard applies to manufacturers in the communications sector, testing institutions, and research organisations involved in network access control and identity management. It proposes a peer-to-peer access framework using asymmetric cryptographic technologies and a trusted third party to enhance authentication protocols, with applications across wired and wireless mobile networks.
