On 8 October 2024, the Law on Digital Technology Industry was introduced to the National Assembly. The law establishes a system of standards and technical regulations for digital technology industry activities in relation to products, services, and processes. The principles of quality management are stipulated, and a conformity assessment is included. Furthermore, the MIC will issue ethical principles for the development, deployment, and application of artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, digital technology products created by AI must be labelled for identification to ensure that the output of the AI systems is marked in a machine-readable format and can be detected as artificially created or manipulated. Finally, AI systems are classified according to risk levels based on their impact on health, the rights and lawful interests of organisations and individuals, human safety or property, the safety of national critical information systems, and critical infrastructure. The classifications are employed to implement management and technical measures to regulate risks in accordance with their levels.
