State Administration for Market Regulation opened consultation on draft regulations on the supervision and management of live E-commerce including business registration requirement

On 10 June 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) opened a public consultation on the draft regulations on the supervision and management of live E-commerce until 10 July 2025. According to the draft regulations, legal persons and unincorporated organisations must register their full names, unified social credit codes, addresses, and contact information with live E-commerce platforms, while natural persons must provide valid identity numbers and residential details. Platform operators are required to verify this business registration information through official channels, maintain up-to-date records, and conduct quarterly checks. Platforms are also required to report operator registration data to provincial-level market supervision departments. Operators who provide false or outdated registration information may face restrictions on access to platform services.
