State Administration for Market Regulation opened consultation on draft regulations on supervision and administration of online trading platform rules including cybersecurity regulation

On 4 June 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) opened the consultation on the draft regulations on supervision and administration of online trading platform rules until 4 July 2025. Under the draft regulations, e-commerce platforms are required to prominently display information security clauses for information within the platform, including but not limited to transaction information and review information. When e-commerce platforms stipulate information security protection obligations for third-party providers, they must legally stipulate the handling obligations and responsibilities of relevant parties. They must also supervise the fulfilment of these obligations.
