On 27 March 2025, the Bill on stricter approach to sexual violations, fraud against the elderly, and crimes with gender as a hate crime motive was introduced to the Parliament of Sweden. The Bill proposes legislative amendments to strengthen criminal law protection against sexual violations, fraud targeting the elderly, and gender-based hate crimes. The Bill applies to individuals and entities involved in sexual services, digital content provision, and exploitation of vulnerable persons. The Bill would extend the existing criminalisation of purchasing sexual services to include acts carried out online.
