On 5 August 2025, the Act Regarding the Ownership of Model Training and Content Generated by a Generative Artificial Intelligence Tool (Act 927) enters into force. The Act applies to individuals and entities using generative artificial intelligence tools for either content generation or model training. The Act provides that the person supplying input or directives to a generative AI tool owns the generated content, provided no copyright or intellectual property infringement occurs. It assigns ownership of a trained model to the person providing lawful training data, unless ownership is contractually assigned. Exceptions apply to employment contexts, where content and models created under employer direction within the scope of employment belong to the employer. The Act does not grant ownership over infringing content.
