Argentina: Draft Resolution 2214-D-2025 requesting disclosure of Transitional Investigation Unit report on crypto asset LIBRA was introduced to Chamber of Deputies

On 9 May 2025, Draft Resolution 2214-D-2025, requesting the National Executive Branch, through the Ministry of Justice, to transmit a copy of the report prepared by the Transitional Investigation Unit (UTI) regarding the crypto asset Libra was introduced to the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina. The UTI was created by Decree 114/2025 to collect relevant information to support the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor’s Office. According to a note from the Minister of Justice read aloud during a session on 29 April 2025, the UTI completed its investigation and submitted its findings to judicial authorities. The Resolution argues that withholding the report from the Legislature lacks clear justification and undermines transparency. Citing the constitutional duty of legislative oversight, the Resolution requests that the report be made available to the Chamber of Deputies for analysis.
