National Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee closes consultation on draft cybersecurity standard for IC card chips with central processing units

On 24 June 2025, the National Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee (TC260) closes its consultation on the draft national standard "Security Specifications for IC Card Chips with Central Processing Units for Network Security Technology". The draft standard is intended to replace GB/T 22186-2016 and sets out security objectives, technical requirements, and testing methods for integrated circuit card chips with a central processing unit. It includes specifications for cryptographic modules, secure key storage, random number generation, and tamper resistance. It also describes protective mechanisms against physical and logical attacks, such as side-channel and fault injection attacks, and outlines procedures for security testing, conformance validation, and chip evaluation. The consultation will remain open until 24 June 2025.
