On 13 May 2025, the Bill on Protection of Privacy, Dignity and Fundamental Rights of People Against the Manipulation of Images with Nudeness or Defamatory Contexts Using Artificial Intelligence (2300-D-2025) was introduced to the Chamber of Deputies. The Bill establishes criminal offences against the manipulation of nude images using artificial intelligence. The bill covers all instances in which there occurs a "digital alteration or creation of an image using any technology, including AI, to insert, modify, or generate graphic representations" without explicit consent. Under the Bill, digital platforms would be responsible for the identification, blocking, and removal of manipulated images without consent.
