On 26 May 2025, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) adopted the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Strategic Plan during the 46th ASEAN Summit. The plan applies to digital and media service providers, educational institutions, and public-private-people partnerships. It aims to expand information and communications technology access and address the exploitation of women and children online. It promotes digital innovation, stronger connectivity, and efforts to bridge the digital divide. It also supports digital literacy and workforce readiness through better education and training.
