Spain: Introduced 2022 Budget Law including funding for the Spanish Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence

The 2022 Budget Law (Ley 22/2021) is introduced in the Spanish Parliament. The Law would introduce a funding of € 5 million to establish the Spanish Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence. The Agency shall be created by a subsequent decree of the Government, and must independently carry actions to investigate and minimize the risks deriving from Artificial Intelligence technologies, especially as concerns fundamental rights. Moreover, the Agency is delegated to supervise the application of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy.
