Russia: Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation adopted order No. 293 on authorising officials to request information for anti-corruption checks in digital asset oversight

On 9 April 2025, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation adopted Order No. 293. The order grants designated ministry officials the authority to request information from credit institutions, tax authorities, real estate registration bodies, and operators of information systems involved in the issuance of digital financial assets. These powers are to be exercised in the context of anti-corruption inspections. The authorised officials include the State Secretary and the Deputy Minister who chairs the Ministry’s Commission on Compliance with Official Conduct Requirements and Conflict of Interest Resolution.
