Turkiye: Competition Authority approved acquisition of Trendyol Go by Uber Holding (Decision No. 25-19/451-213)

On 15 May 2025, the Turkish Competition Board approved the acquisition of sole control of TYG Turkey Elektronik Ticaret Hizmetleri ve Yatırımları AŞ (Trendyol GO) by Uber International Holding BV. The decision highlighted that Uber would acquire 85% of Trendyol GO’s shares via share transfer, while Trendyol retains a 15% stake. The Board found that the transaction would not significantly reduce effective competition or lead to the creation or strengthening of a dominant position in any market, in line with Article 7 of Law No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition.
