On 17 March 2015, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (SB 754) was introduced to the United States Senate. The Bill would authorise private entities to share cyber threat indicators and defensive measures with the federal government through a system administered by the Department of Homeland Security. It would require that shared information be automatically disseminated to designated federal agencies, limit government use to cybersecurity and specified criminal purposes, and mandate the removal of personal information not directly related to a cybersecurity threat before further use.
