Prime Minister signed Directive No. 13/CT-TTg on Strengthening Efforts Against Smuggling, Trade Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods including measures on intellectual property protection

On 17 May 2025, the Prime Minister signed Directive No. 13/CT-TTg on Strengthening Efforts Against Smuggling, Trade Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods in the New Context, which includes measures on intellectual property protection. The Directive instructs the Ministry of Industry and Trade to strengthen inspection and strictly handle violations on e-commerce platforms, particularly regarding counterfeit goods and intellectual property infringement. It directs the Ministry of Science and Technology to review and propose amendments to the Intellectual Property Law, and tasks the Ministry of Justice with coordinating legal improvements related to anti-smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeiting, and intellectual property protection.
