Italy: Communications Regulatory Authority adopted precautionary order requiring blocking of stream ripping website conv.mp3youtube.cc (No. 69/25/DDA)

On 9 May 2025, the Italian Communications Regulatory Authority (AGCOM) issued a precautionary order under the copyright regulation against the website conv.mp3youtube.cc. The order applies to providers of stream-ripping services that enable unauthorised downloads of protected audio content from online video platforms. The order requires internet service providers to block access to the site. It was highlighted that the website was found to be offering a vast catalogue of recently released music in violation of copyright rules and monetising its services through advertising. AGCOM concluded that the site’s activities cause serious and irreparable harm to rights holders by bypassing lawful distribution channels.
