Description

Government launched nationwide enforcement campaign targeting digital advertising fraud and online intellectual property violations under Directive No. 65/CĐ-TTg

On 15 May 2025, the Government of Vietnam launched a nationwide enforcement campaign under Directive No. 65/CĐ-TTg targeting online and offline violations related to smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement. The campaign, running from 15 May to 15 June 2025, mandates coordinated enforcement across ministries, provincial authorities, and specialised market surveillance bodies. A central task force chaired by the head of the National Steering Committee 389 is tasked with overseeing implementation. The directive highlights the growing role of digital platforms in the dissemination of counterfeit and misleading goods and calls for stricter regulation of online advertising, particularly by influencers and public figures alongside intensified inspections and prosecution. The campaign builds on earlier crackdowns involving fake milk, pharmaceuticals, and health supplements and aims to protect consumer rights, strengthen digital market integrity, and ensure accountability in online commercial practices.
