On 8 May 2025, Mexico’s Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (Secihti) and the Government of the state Puebla signed a framework collaboration agreement to support technological development. The agreement establishes the basis for 7 strategic projects in Puebla, including initiatives in semiconductor design, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, scientific communication, and inclusive higher education. The measure aims to strengthen coordination between federal and state institutions, including Secihti’s affiliated centres such as the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE). It provides for the joint use of human, financial, and material resources to advance research, education, and digital infrastructure. The agreement will be followed by specific cooperation instruments to operationalise the projects.
