Republic of Korea: Fair Trade Commission issued corrective orders against BikeBank and Logiol for restrictive trade practices

Description

Fair Trade Commission issued corrective orders against BikeBank and Logiol for restrictive trade practices

On 12 May 2025, South Korea's Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) issued corrective orders against BikeBank Co., Ltd. and Logiall Co., Ltd. for engaging in restrictive trade practices in the food delivery intermediary program market. BikeBank, a supplier of two-wheeled vehicles to local delivery agencies, and Logiall, a provider of food delivery intermediary platforms, included contractual conditions that restricted business partners from using competing services. Between July 2019 and January 2024, BikeBank entered into supply contracts with 852 agencies that used Logiall’s platform, which prohibited engagement with competing programs and imposed penalties for breach. At Logiall’s direction, BikeBank enforced these provisions by terminating contracts and imposing penalties on agencies that switched to competitors. The KFTC ordered both companies to cease the conduct and delete the relevant contractual clauses.
