Ministry of Finance announced National Data Centers Policy

On 5 May 2025, Brazil's Ministry of Finance announced the upcoming National Data Center Policy. The Policy applies to digital infrastructure providers, including local and international data centre operators involved in service exports and investments in Brazil. It aims to integrate Brazil’s digital and green agendas by encouraging the development of clean energy-powered data centres underpinned by cybersecurity and legal safeguards. Anticipating the effects of the country’s Tax Reform, the Policy will exempt all sector-related investments and fully exempt exports of data centre services from taxation.
