Cyberspace Administratio issued Management Regulations for Terminal Device Direct Satellite Service 2025 including import licensing requirement

On 23 April 2025, the Cyberspace Administration of China, together with other national authorities, adopted the Management Regulations for Terminal Device Direct Satellite Service. The Regulation introduces a requirement for importers of satellite-capable terminal equipment to declare such goods to Customs and complete import formalities in accordance with the Radio Regulation. The measure is applicable to terminal equipment that is capable of establishing a direct connection with satellites and utilising radio frequencies. The regulation will enter into force on 1 June 2025.
