Description

US Central Government extended order for export licensing requirement for H20 chips under United States export control rules for an indefinite time

On 14 April 2025, the United States government informed NVIDIA Corporation that the export licensing requirement for its H20 integrated circuits and other products with comparable memory or interconnect bandwidth will remain in effect for the indefinite future. The requirement was initially implemented on 9 April 2025 and mandates that licences must be obtained for exports to China, including Hong Kong and Macau, and to countries listed under D:5 export controls, as well as to entities headquartered or ultimately parented in those jurisdictions. The measure addresses the risk that such products may be used in or diverted to Chinese supercomputers.
