Republic of Korea: Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism adopted enforcement regulations implementing amendments to Korean Game Industry Promotion Act (Law No. 20485)

On 18 April 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism adopted updated Enforcement Regulations of the Act on the Promotion of the Game Industry under Decree No. 594. The Enforcement Regulations specify procedures for age classification applications, reporting of content modifications, and the designation and re-designation of self-rating operators. They also define criteria for assessing speculative elements in games and outline measures in response to unauthorised content changes. The Game Rating and Administration Committee is assigned responsibility for applying these criteria, processing classification decisions within set timeframes, and verifying documentation submitted by self-rating operators.
