On 23 April 2025, the amendments to the Act on the Promotion of the Game Industry entered into force, introducing a new self-rating system for game content and reinforcing content moderation obligations. This is enabled by enforcement decree No. 594 implemented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. Certified game providers can now assign age ratings to their own products, subject to government standards and oversight mechanisms. The new rules also establish clearer procedures for the correction of improper ratings and ensure stronger protections for minors. This framework reflects a modernized approach to content moderation, balancing regulatory oversight with industry responsibility.
