UNESCO adopts recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence

The General Conference of UNESCO adopted the Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence at its 41st session. This occurred two years after the resolution of the previous General Conference's session in November 2019 to develop this first global standard-setting instrument on the ethics of artificial intelligence in the form of a recommendation. The recommendation stresses the role of developing technologies to serve humanity as a whole as well as the need of a human-centered AI approach within international and national regulations and regulatory frameworks.
