China: National Data Administration closes consultation on draft model contract for merging data

On 18 May 2025, the National Data Administration of China closes its consultation on a draft Model Contract for Data Fusion and Development, which sets out rules for merging data from multiple parties and generating shared datasets. The proposed text focuses on the integration and joint development of datasets from multiple contributing parties, specifying the scope of permissible use, roles and contributions of participants, arrangements for rights to derivative data, cost and benefit-sharing, and responsibilities for the use and management of resulting outputs.
