China: National Data Administration opened consultation on draft model contract for providing data to a recipient

On 18 April 2025, the National Data Administration of China opened a consultation, set to close on 18 May 2025, on a draft model contract for providing data to a recipient. This model contract sets out proposed terms for the lawful and secure transfer of data from one party to another, including provisions for specifying the type and scope of data, allocating data ownership and usage rights, addressing intellectual property and confidentiality, and establishing mechanisms for dispute resolution and data security compliance.
