Ireland: Opened consultation on guidance "Fundamentals for a Child-Oriented Approach to Data Processing"

On 18 December 2021, The Irish Data Protection Commission published the "Fundamentals for a Child-Oriented Approach to Data Processing" for public consultation until 31 March 2022. The approach aims to improve data processing and protection with a focus on children, grounding in previous consultations of children and young people, parents and educators. The main concern is that children have continuous and increased access to online content and platforms and are at risk for having their data stolen, used, and sold.
