United States of America: Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force issued warning against 9 telecom companies for allegedly transmitting illegal robocalls

Description

Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force issued warning against 9 telecom companies for allegedly transmitting illegal robocalls

On 9 April 2025, the Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force, a bipartisan coalition of 51 state attorneys general, issued warning letters to nine telecommunications companies, including All Access Telecom, Lingo Telecom, NGL Communications, Range, RSCom Ltd, Telcast Network, Telcentris (known as Voxox), ThinQ Technologies (known as Commio), and Global Net Holdings, for allegedly transmitting suspected illegal robocall traffic on their networks. This action follows a series of enforcement efforts throughout 2024, during which several telecommunications companies received similar warning letters for transmitting suspected illegal robocall traffic. The alleged robocalls included government impersonation and scams involving credit card interest rate reductions, Medicare, cable service discounts, and threats to disconnect utilities. The letters ordered the companies to cease transmitting these robocalls immediately or face further legal action. The Attorneys General also shared the results of their investigation with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
