Description

Roskomnadzor adds Netflix to registy of audiovisual service providers affected by local content requirement

On 29 December 2021, Roskomnadzor added Netflix to the registry of audiovisual service providers. Since 2017, Roskomnadzor lists providers of "audiovisual services" with an audience of more than 100,000 people in a registry. Listed providers have to comply with Russian law, register a Russian company, and provide streams of 20 major Russian state television channels. These requirements will apply to Netflix starting March 2022.
