Description

Fair Trade Commission fined online game service provider KOG KRW 36 million for misreporting winning structure

On 14 April 2025, the Korea Fair Trade Commission (FTC) issued a ruling against KOG, an online game service provider, for the misrepresentation of winning probabilities in their game Grand Chase Classic. The FTC imposed a corrective order and a fine of KRW 36 million on the company, noting the misleading reports of the “Order to Unseal Beads” as a probability item when, in fact, it operated on a point accumulation system. The practices were found in violation of the Electronic Commerce Consumer Protection Act.
