Canadian Securities Administrators closes consultation on use of artificial intelligence systems in capital markets

On 31 March 2025, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) closes its public consultation on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) systems in capital markets. The consultation sought input on the application of existing securities laws to AI technologies, with particular attention to principles of transparency, accountability, and risk mitigation. Stakeholder submissions, collected during the 3 month comment period, will be reviewed to determine whether amendments or clarifications to regulatory frameworks are required to address AI-related developments in the capital markets.
