Italy: Communications Regulatory Authority issued blocking order against rebranded website infringing copyright

On 31 March 2025, the Italian Communications Regulatory Authority (AGCOM) issued Determination No. 54/25/DDA ordering the blocking of the website ilgeniodellostreaming.delivery. The website was found to be a rebranded version of ilgeniodellostreaming.press, which had previously been blocked for distributing copyrighted content owned by Vision Distribution S.p.A. Following a complaint submitted by FAPAV on behalf of the rights holder, AGCOM confirmed that the domain name had been changed to circumvent a prior blocking order, constituting a repeated infringement under Article 8-bis(3) of the Copyright Regulation. The determination mandates that access to ilgeniodellostreaming.delivery and related aliases be disabled within 2 days of notification. Non-compliance may result in administrative sanctions and referral to law enforcement authorities.
