On 5 April 2025, Customs and Border Protection issued updated guidance clarifying the exclusion of certain electronic products from reciprocal tariffs imposed under Executive Order 14257. The guidance applies to importers of goods classified under specified headings of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. It applies to importers of goods including computers and their components, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, smartphones, wireless communication devices and electronic media. It requires the importers to declare the exception using secondary classification 9903.01.32.
