On 11 April 2025, the Data Protection Commission (DPC) launched an investigation into X regarding its processing of personal data. The investigation focuses on the company’s use of publicly accessible posts from EU/EEA users on its social media platform to train the Grok generative AI model developed by its subsidiary, xAI.
