On 7 April 2025, the Government of India released the Digital Threat Report 2024, a joint initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the Computer Security Incident Response Team for the Finance sector (CSIRT-Fin), and the cybersecurity firm SISA. The report presents an overview of current and emerging cybersecurity threats affecting the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. It identifies sector-wide security gaps and provides strategic recommendations intended to support the development of a cohesive cybersecurity framework. The report underscores the role of coordinated efforts in addressing risks linked to digital transformation and recognises cybersecurity as a component of economic resilience.
