Vietnam: Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued procedure for reissuing licence to provide social network services

On 14 March 2025, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism implemented the procedure for reissuing licences to provide social network services, pursuant to Decree No. 147/2024/NĐ-CP dated 9 November 2024. The procedure applies to agencies, organisations and enterprises operating platform intermediaries that host user-generated content in Vietnam. Applicants must submit one set of documents, which the Ministry will review within five working days of receipt. Reissued licences replicate the content of the original, including issuance date and any amendments. The procedure does not impose application fees and forms part of the national framework for managing internet services and online information.
