Description

Securities and Exchange Commission filed a criminal complaint against Aux Cayes FinTech operator of OKX digital asset exchange platform over unlicensed operations

On 21 March 2025, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a criminal complaint against Aux Cayes FinTech Co. Ltd., the operator of the OKX digital asset exchange platform, and nine individuals for allegedly operating an unlicensed digital asset exchange business in breach of Thailand's Emergency Decree on Digital Asset Businesses B.E. 2561 (2018). The investigation determined that OKX conducted trading activities, levied charges, and advertised through social media. Concurrently, nine individuals allegedly facilitated the expansion of the platform's user base. The SEC filed the case to the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) for further legal procedures and advised the public to exercise caution against unregulated exchanges due to potential risks of fraud and money laundering.
