Law No. 18-05 on electronic commerce including business registration requirement entered into force

On 17 November 2018, Law No. 18-05 on electronic commerce entered into force. Those engaged in e-commerce as of its publication on 16 May 2018 had six months to comply with its provisions. The Law mandates that any entity engaging in electronic commerce must register with the Algerian Trade Registry or the Artisans and Crafts registry. The registration process includes depositing the domain name with the national trade registry and publishing the supplier's details in a publicly accessible electronic database.
