Japan: Digital Agency opened public consultation on draft guidelines for procurement and utilisation of generative artificial intelligence in public administration

On 28 March 2025, the Digital Agency of the Japanese Government launched a public consultation on draft guidelines for the procurement and use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in governmental operations. The consultation is open until 11 April 2025. The guidelines aim to facilitate AI adoption while addressing associated risks, with a focus on innovation and efficiency in public administration.
