On 14 November 2018, Law No. 18-04 establishing the general rules relating to post and electronic communications entered into force. Articles 161-162 mandate the identification of subscribers before service activation. The identity of all unknown lines was required to be verified within six months of the publication of this law in the Official Gazette (13 May 2018), with penalties for non-compliance outlined in Articles 130 and 134.
