Algeria: Law No. 18-04 establishing the general rules relating to post and electronic communications including content moderation regulation entered into force

On 13 May 2018, Law No. 18-04 establishing the general rules relating to post and electronic communications entered into force. Article 118 authorises the Regulatory Authority for Post and Electronic Communications (ARPCE) to order operators to block access to networks or services if they contravene public order, national defence, or security, with penalties for non-compliance under Article 186.
