Law No. 18-04 establishing the general rules relating to post and electronic communications including cybersecurity regulation entered into force

On 13 May 2018, Law No. 18-04 establishing the general rules relating to post and electronic communications entered into force. Article 10 defines "cyber security" as the set of tools, policies, and mechanisms to protect electronic communications against threats to data availability, integrity, and confidentiality. Articles 97 and 119 require operators to ensure network security, safeguard data confidentiality, and prevent unauthorised interception of communications, with penalties for non-compliance under Article 165.
